Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP's and Saturday Hikes

I am so excited that I can finally post these pictures of our trip!! Our computer works off and on and hasn't worked for the last few weeks. Three weekends ago we went to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks with Jess and Hawley. They were brave enough to even share a hotel room with us, which the kids loved and still ask to go visit Jess and Hawley's house again. (they thought the hotel was their house.) We went on a couple of hikes and let Fischer try out the new kids harness that Matt got him. Fischer is always asking to go rappelling with Matt. He sees videos and pictures and just begs to go. So we bought him a harness and that night Matt let him rappel off of our balcony. I didn't think he would do it, but he did and loved it.

This is Fischer's first real rappel. He loved it! He did it a few times and got more nervous the more times he did it, but he kept wanting to go again.

It got pretty warm on our hikes. Hawley even had shorts on. So we were quite surprised when we drove up the mountain to see The General Sherman Tree, which is the largest tree in the world, and we found tons of snow! And then it started snowing.
It was a lot of fun to see the snow and walk around in it for a little bit. We had a lot of fun with Jess and Hawley and hope to do it again soon! Thanks for coming guys!
Two weekends ago we went on a hike. I don't actually know where it was, but it was really fun because we were up in the mountains and we were right by the beach. So we went for a hike in the mountains and then played on the beach for awhile. Matt caught a lizard. Sophie wasn't interested in touching it.
Fischer held it and it took awhile for us to convince him to let it go.

Last weekend we went on a hike in the Big Basin State Park. There were tons of these huge yellow Banana Slugs. Fischer had to stop and touch each one. Sophie was even brave enough to touch a few, but only because they were yellow.

Sophie kept staring at Matt while he was chewing. She kept asking him to open his mouth to show her that the food was gone.

On St. Patrick's Day we had a little play group party. It was a lot of fun.
